A treasure on the Trace

This was at a market place -- the Trace, in Mandeville, La.  a while back.  The gold caught my eye, but the contrast of the slate and the shiny gold made it really look outstanding.  $20!  Why didn't I buy it?

The Fleur de Lis -- mantle style

The Fleur de List trophy on the mantle is pretty common place on the fireplace mantle in New Orleans.  In my travels about, though, I have seen in several homes far from the Big Easy.

Yellow Sun Fleur De Lis

I had a lot of fun making this Fleur De Lis.  I was just playing around with various program to see what they could do.

The SVG file for this is here  -- if it opens in your browser, just save it. You can then open it in Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, etc.  For some reason the pattern in the Fleur De Lis did not come across when I downloaded it here.  But you may like that better.

Fleur de paper towel

I saw this Fleur De List on a paper towel hold the other day. It made me wonder if there was any household object that had not been adorned with a Fleur De Lis at one time or another.

Fleur de Similar?

This is a stained glass object I saw the other day on a building that at one time was a church. It looked a lot like a Fleur de Lis, so much that it make me wonder-- did someone just take some style liberties? Or, is it just another design altogether? I guess when you start looking for Fleur de Lis, everything looks like one. No?
